the week after portugal

First, sorry i am so behind...gramps i know you have been getting super bored without my amazing blog posts to keep you entertained everyday! Since I am so behind, I am just going to lump the whole week after we got back from portugal into one post, since not much happened anyway. I can summarize it in three words...school, school and school. Sound fun? Monday, as I already wrote was hectic getting back and getting to class on time. Normally it wouldn't have been a big deal to be a little late to class, but today we were going on a field trip. Our professor from America took us on a tour of sorts around where we live and showed us stuff we hadn't seen yet and also gave us information about places we had seen before but didnt know anything about. For example...i don't remember if i wrote about the day we got lost and ended up by the cathedral and stuff, but 3 of us did, and it was really cool because we got to see all this cool stuff we didnt even know was there. On our field trip our prof took us to the same area where we were lost and explained to us that is was the old roman part of the city so we were walking on the roman roads! She also took us by this really cool, newly remodeled food market. It has a really interesting roof and we never knew why and she explained that the architects took pictures of the fruit stands inside and then pixellated them on photoshop and that was the design for the roof. She also took us to another district right by where we live and to this really pretty park that we had no idea existed. After class we just worked on our projects for studio all night. Tuesday we had studio. We went to class and it ended up our group didnt even get to talk to the professor. He got through 3 groups in 3 1/2 hours. After class we had to hurry and get all dressed up to go out to dinner because it was two girls on the trips birthdays. I went and bought some cute red flats with bows to wear because i didnt bring any cute shoes. The place we ate dinner was really good and reasonably priced. I had Paella which is a traditional dish here and is rice with seafood in it in a skillet type thing. It was really good, although I am not sure what half of the things in there were. I just ate them anyway. Then we went out to a club for their b-days. Wednesday we had another field trip with our other lecture class. We went to some of the same places but she also took us to different parts of the city we had been discussing in class, like some of the neighborhoods. That night we had our pot luck again. This time, everybody but a couple came so we had a lot more variety of food. We had it in the tv lounge downstairs and it was really fun. When we were done eating and just sitting there talking, the night guard came by and told us in spanish that we weren't allowed to gather in groups of more than 6 so we needed to leave and couldnt do that anymore. We weren't even being loud. We have been having lots of problems with this one guard so we were pretty annoyed. Thursday i dont remember what we did. We had studio from 3 to 8:30, but other than that im not sure. just kidding i just looked at my pictures and i remember. That night we went to the dancing fountains. It is like the bellagio fountain show where they have it set up to a song and it "dances" along with the song. It goes every thirty minutes in the evening, and it is different songs each time. We saw it to a classical song and we waited to see the next show, but it was done for the night. I took a video, and you can post videos on here, but the internet here is so slow that it won't work. i will try again later.
