We slept in pretty late after getting home around 2, catching up on the lost sleep from the week. It was really nice to be back in my own room and own bed and get to wake up whenever the
heck i felt like it! Today (fri.) was a really lazy day for both me and Bhavika. When I woke up, i checked my email and caught up on all that stuff, since i hadn't had internet access. Then i showered and had hopes of having a productive day. Ha. I went to the grocery store and the boqueria saying we had nothing to eat. At the boqueria I got some swiss cheese and this jelly stuff and had that for lunch on some bread. oh my goodness, it was so good! Then for the rest of the day we just sat in our room and chilled. It was really nice to just sit around for a day. Most of the time, i was updating my blog and loading pictures and stuff like that. I started to get a little homesick today too just wanting to be able to bring all of my family and friends here with me, definitely not wanting to be back in the states yet. That was kinda hard, but i'm good! At like 11, Bhavika got a call from one of her friends that is actually studying here too but for a year, and he wanted to know if she wanted to go hang out with him so we both went. It was a lot of fun becuase he brought two of his friends and then we met up with some
other people too. It was nice to get away from our small group and meet some new people. Two of the girls were from the states and they were so nice and so much fun, and then another girl was from germany and she was so adorable! She was so sweet, and would tell these stories/jokes that she thought were really funny, and so did I, but not many people would...she had a different sense of humor, but i liked it! It was a really fun night, even though we were only out for about 2 hours and we just sat and talked. Saturday we slept in until about noon again, and then spent the whole day working on our project for studio. No fun, but has to be done. Man, why do i have to go to school while i am here. :) Sunday, we woke up at 10 and started working around 11...that's early for us so we were proud. We worked in the studio until about 1:30 when we (my project group, Todd, B, and me) went and got lunch at Burger King! I was so excited because i haven't had any McDonalds or Burger King since i have been here, but i have been craving it and i finally ate some! It was good, but not as good as i was expecting. It would have been perfect, except they put thousand island dressing or something like it, and a lot of it, on my cheeseburger. gross. After lunch we went back and worked for 30 minutes, and then we left again to "take a break" and go on a trip to monserrat. It ended up being Bhavika, me, Preston, and one of his friends visiting from the states. It is a mountain with an old monastery on it and all this other stuff too. To get there you have to ride a train for about an hour so we went to the station to catch a train, and for some odd reason, the train section of that particular station wasnt working for the day. So after tryin
g to speak broken spanish to the guy, we figured out which station was working and we went there. When we got there, we waited and waited and waited for a train. The schedule had said it was supposed to have already come while we had been there, and the platform we were on said our train. Well, our train came to the platform next to the one we were one, and rolled up with one number on it..the S33 and then while it was sitting there switched its sign randomly to the train we needed...the R5. It was the weirdest thing and didnt make any sense, but we just got on. The train ride was about an hour, but the time passed quickly because we talked the whole time and prestons friend was really funny. I liked her a lot. When we got there, it was so worth it! It is absolutely gorgeous. It is these huge craggly, steep rocks making up this mountain, and down in the valleys are spanish villages. so cute. We rode a cable car to the top and then walked around for a while. We didnt have a really long time up there becuase the last car down was at 6:45 and we didnt get up there until after 5, but it worked out fine. I am definitely going back though to see more of it. We caught the train back and went to our dorm and ate a quick dinner, and then straight back to the studio to work, which is where we were until 2.
