Ok, well i have been trying for 24 hours now and it won't work. Just know that it was amazing and indescribable, and i will find some way for ya'll to get to see the video. The first team to go was barcelona and the way they do it is there is this big cirlce that is really dense as the first level and then depending on the shape, there are 2-6 people as the second layer and they just climb up each others bodies making "story" after story of people. The last story is 2 little kids about 4 that wear helmets and climb all the way to the top, cross over the top and each other and come back down the other side. So, they started building and it was a really narrow one with only two people on each story after the first two. The kids were about half way up and the tower started shaking really really bad, so the team leader called it off and they all climbed back down. But as they were climbing down it collapsed. It's pretty dangerous and scary but everyone was fine. That is why the kids wear helmets, because two years ago a little kid died. They were all really frustrated because this is a big deal for them and they practice all year for this day. Next was the pink team and they built a really tall one without falling a

La Merce-Sunday and Monday
Sunday was one of the best days since we've been here. It was the day of the castillers. Spain is pretty famous for them, but its where they make the human castles. It was a
t 12 so we all went in this big group to plaza st. Juame to watch it. We got there pretty early in case there was a huge crowd, but there wasn't yet, so we went and got starbucks. It was the first time I had had starbucks since we left, and i am sad to report it just doesnt taste the same. It was quite a let down honestly. Anyway, we took our coffee back to the square which was getting pretty packed. They had this pre-show on the stage of a group of all ages making all different sorts of formations which was pretty cool, but nothing like the real deal. By the time the real thing started there were so many people there nobody could move a muscle. It was pretty uncomfortable but well worth it. There were three teams and they all come in seperately with a tower of four, and the rest of the team is circled around. Each team practices all year round, one of them was the barcelona team, and the other two teams are tied for the record of highest castle ever made. The red is Bcn. So they all go to a different part in the plaza and stand with their team in this huge mob. Then they go one at a time and make these castles. I can't explain it but i took a video so hopefully it will load.

nd it was really cool. That is the one i have the video of and when they are coming down every one is clapping. Then the teal team went and did it as well. And then they start over, with the red team and each team builds again. During one of the rounds, we pushed our way to the front and were standing pretty much in the teams circle! It was awesome to be that close. And, some of our guys actually got to be in the supporting circle and have people climb on them and such. We actually left before it was done because it was really hot, and we watched for a good two hours. When we left we went and had a traditional spanish lunch. It was really fun even though some of the people hated their food, I liked mine so i enjoyed myself. A traditional spanish lunch is when you go out at about 2 or 3 and get the menu del dia (menu of the day) which is two courses, bread, and a dessert and it is the same food as dinner just cheaper. It is a long affair, and then you just eat a very light dinner. By the time we were done with lunch it was 5 so we headed back to the apartment and took a little siesta (nap) before getting ready to go out again. Sunday was the last day of most of the concerts and stuff so we had to take advanta
ge of it. We decided to go check out the Flamenco stuff which is the Catalan music and dancing, and on the way to the plaza get something small to eat because by this time it was around 11 and we were hungry again. We couldn't find anything open that late on a Sunday evening so we went to pizza hut because it was all we could find, and it was close to the plaza. Bad idea. It was awful. While we were eating we got a call that the spanish kids were going out again at midnight, and we wanted to go so we just went back to the dorm. It was a repeat of Friday night in the subway again, which was pretty funny. This time we actually met some of the "authentic" Spain kids and they dont shake hands, they do a kiss on each cheek. That's just how they greet each other here, so that was kinda fun. It made me feel like I actually live in Spain. We went back to the forum, like on friday and went to this place where its just a big tent and they play music and you can dance. We got home really late and once again slept in late. All day Monday was devoted to working on our studio projects. We had no class because it was still a holiday which was really nice. Now a little background about the goings on at our dorm over the w
driers were broken so you had people from 5 washers all having to use the same drier, so you can see how that wasnt working so well. There were like 4 clothes baskets in line. So eekend and also part of the reason i was/am so behind on my blog. First of all, I washed my clothes on friday and for some reason the washer decided to be stupid and finish with my clothes sopping wet sitting in a puddle in the bottom of the washer. Then to make things worse, two of the threei took my clothes up to my room and rung them out individually in the sink and hung them all over our room. It took me forever. The next day they still werent dry, and finally two days later at 4 in the morning i was able to use the dryer. Also, the internet stopped working for our
whole complex on friday night. Since it was a holiday there was nobody here but the guard until Tuesday morning. So we went that whole time without internet at all. A pain. That is why on Monday all of us were working at the studio where we could get internet all day long. We took a break at 10 to watch the finale of la merce firework show. And then went back to the studio to work some more. At the dorm the spanish kids painted signs and hung them from the windows that said, fight for what you paid for or something like that, and then they had a "rally" i cant think of the right word right now, but where they all at the same time, started banging pots and pans for "justice." It was funny!
