another week of school work. (the week after la merce)

Like the title implies, the week after La Merce was basically school work and more school work. And, it feels like we are always doing school because Monday through Thursday we have class from 3 to 7 and one day until 8 or later, so your whole day is gone. The only fun thing we did this week was go to a Barcelona futbol game. There was a group of us that had been talking about going and wanting to go while we were here. We found out that Wednesday was the cheapest game of the season so we decided to buy tickets. We sat on the upper deck "nose-bleeds" if you will and they were still 35 euros. For the cheapest game. I thought that was pretty crazy, but I guess futbol is a huge deal here and Barcelona is really good. The fans were absolutely crazy, but it just made it more fun! They were screaming and singing songs and such the whole game. And everyone is super in to it. Me and Bhavika had bought matching jerseys a couple weeks before for the captain of the team (who didnt even play) so we wore them all day and then to the game. All day, people would pass us and cheer or say something in spanish about the team and it was rather funny. The game was good, Barcelona won 4 to 1. On the subway ride back, there is a picture, but the metro was packed because of all the people at the game and it was hilarious. Seriously nobody could move AT ALL and we were all plastered up against these random people and couldnt hold on to anything so when we stopped, the whole mass would rock back and forth. I couldnt stop laughing the whole time. Priceless. Oh, I forgot. Tuesday three men from A&M came to check up on us because there has been some issues with the place we are living and a spanish class we were supposed to have and didnt when we got here and all this type of stuff. One of the guys was a professor, another a professor who also lived here for 4 years and the third, the associate dean on the architecture college. They were really concerned because we have been having problems with our night guard always yelling at us in spanish, so we can't understand him, and also we never got the rules when we got here so we didnt really know what wasn't allowed and all this type of stuff. Well what happened was emails were being sent back and forth texas to here and it all got blown out of proportion. So they came to straighten it all out. We had a meeting Tuesday evening with them and then they took us out to dinner for traditional tapas. It was so good. Tapas is what spain is famous for, and are like little appetizers and you order a lot of them and just pass them around. We had all kinds of stuff like calamari, shrimp, spanish ham, tomato bread, fried eggplant, cheese, and more. Then we had dessert and coffee. The bill ended up being something like 700 euros! Also, this week, we actually got a spanish class and started it. Our teacher is only 28 and so cool. She is really good at teaching and also just a cool person. And, to make it better, she has a british accent when she speaks english becuase she learned it living in London, but grew up in Spain with spanish. Thursday, Me and Anthony went to the bus station to figure stuff out for our london flight before class. It turns out, our flight left at 6:20 from Girona which is 1 hour bus ride away so we had to catch the bus at the station at 3:30 in the morning. And if thats not bad enough, the bus station is a 30 minute walk from where we live and in the middle of the night, there is no public transportation. None of us slept at all and we headed out with all our bags and stuff at 2:45 Thursday night/Friday morning to get the bus. It was a super sketchy walk, but we made it!
