We got home rather late last night, so today all of us slept in till about noon. it was definitely much needed rest. we started the day off by going to la boqueria, the outdoor market and got some amazing fruit. i got the best peaches ive ever had (i still have one in the fridge :)) and some fresh pineapple that comes cut for you, but is still laying on the outside and a kiwi! I pretty much live off of the great fruit over here...its definitely something i am going to miss when i get back home. As well as running down to the supermarket about 2 minutes away and getting a fresh baguette and some cheese...oh its so good! Then we went to Montjuic do take some pictures and research more the site for studio. Our professor told us to, so we were basically doing our "homework" but it was some of the best homework ive ever done! It was cool because you could see the whole city and the mountain is right on the coastline. on top there is a fortress/castle thats pretty cool....not like a breathtaking castle, but one used to protect barcelona in the past so there was some cool history up there. and it was kinda nice to be away from the city just for a couple of hours too. We had to ride a chair lift type thing to get up there, and then we just wandered around taking a lot of pictures for class of the industrial port (nothing beautiful). Then on the way down, we stoped and walked to the Olympic Village because its on the back side of Mountjuic about halfway down. the olympics were in barcelona in 92 so it was cool just to get to walk around the village. there is an awesome telephone tower designed by calatrava, a famous spanish architect there too. When we got back my roomate and i cooked dinner for the first time. it was good, but definitely not the cooking facilities im used too. i made some pasta and bought some sauce, very different from ours. For the night life we went to this bar that apparantly was very popular because it was packed. It was huge and cool because it was old.
